In October 2005 Matilda announced an exciting new project area on the Cape York Peninsula in north Queensland.
This project now comprises 10 Exploration Permit applications totalling 1560 sq km of highly prospective coastal sand plains and dunes of Pleistocene and Holocene age.
Heavy mineral deposits and occurrences with high levels of zircon and rutile are known along this part of the Cape York coastline.
Four of the Exploration Permit applications were advertised in October 2006 and the company is currently holding information sessions and preliminary negotiations with the relevant Traditional owners and Community Councils as part of the process to have the permits granted and access to them in the first half of 2007.
